I'm just gonna say it. We need to bring back the aggressive side part. I personally am team side part over team middle part and I don't care if that makes me a millennial.

This is a relatively simple outfit but I really love the color story. I think the blush of the top really compliments the red of the boots and they both really compliment the olive of the trench. The oatmeal colored skirt is a nice neutral break between the pink and the red so that it doesn't scream Valentine's day. I love the high waist and the seams and accent buttons on the skirt. I know my sister is going it say it's too short for the office BUT LOOK! IT ALSO HAS POCKETS!

I completely forgot to take a picture of the trench in front of the mirror, but my boots just so happened to match this chair, so I did actually get a picture of the full fit. Shout out to whoever the interior decorator of this office. Impeccable taste.

Ok, so I feel like I inadvertently dressed liked Wednesday Adams but to be honest I don't hate it! Black and white is usually not my vibe, but I was feeling myself!

Also can I get a round of applause for these shoes? Stella McCartney, my sustainable God, really turned these out.

I feel like the tweed of the dress paired with the 1960s silhouette reads older and a bit retro, but paired with the button up shirt underneath it kind of reads young, school girl, but then on top of that the platforms give it an edge and modernity. I think there might be a lot going on but with the simplicity of the black and white color story, I think the contradictions work.

Ok. I know you're thinking about it, so let's have an open and honest conversation about it...the hair. I was going for Halle Berry flipped out bob at the Oscars and I'm not sure I was completely successful but what is the point of fashion if not for experimenting? I don't think I nailed it, but you know what? I'm happy I tried something new!

Houndstooth is by far my favorite pattern. I love me a polka dot (as seen in my previous post), I love me a stripe, and I love a floral, but for some reason houndstooth has always been my favorite.

I initially put on the houndstooth top and the houndstooth dress and was just going to go with a basic black boot but then I saw these houndstooth boots out of the corner of my eye and I was like is this too much? and then I was like f it, I'm too much.

I honestly think the brown of the boots plays nicely into the brown of the dress. The white of the shirt picks up the white of the dress. You can't see it in these photos, but my earrings and watch face are blue, playing in to the blue in the dress. Y'all the (~Tim Gunn voice~) COHESION. But at the same time, I feel like this turned out not too "matchy matchy" while literally all being the same pattern and color story. I love it.
